Ok so Smitha tagged me to do this one (and also later Destination Infinity tagged me for the same tag).
What’s that? What this is all about?
Let me copy that from Smitha’s post.
What this is about:
To unite bloggers (from all sectors) in a joint endeavor to share lessons learned and create a bank of long but not forgotten blog posts that deserve to see the light of day again.Rules:
1) Blogger is nominated to take part
2) Blogger publishes his/her 7 links on his/her blog – 1 link for each category.
So I have to go digging for some my very good earlier posts. And that would make me sad…since those days I had the time and inclination to write. These days, chances of that are pretty slim. Even then I am trying to keep my blog active somehow. Anyway…here goes!
1. Your most beautiful post
That would have to be my very first post. It remains my favourite till date. And it contains the reason to start blogging. Need I say more?
2. Your most popular post
It is not everyday that a marriage proposal comes for you from the UK
Around the time I posted this was the time my blog was starting to pick up more readers. This made the readership shoot up. I guess that counts for the ‘popular’ part, doesn’t it?
Well it comes in a close tie with this post – the finale of the hugely popular MM series.
3. Your most controversial post
I generally avoid controversies per se on my blog. I prefer recounting humourous or happy incidents and stories. However 2 posts of mine…came within slight range of controvery. Someone who read the post the first time instead of reading the entire series labelled me as a NRI brat over here. And my friends gave it back left right and centre. But even then I really wouldn’t think they created much of a furore. Hmm maybe I need to start creating some controversies then!
4. Your most helpful post
Erm…come again? I haven’t really written of that sort, not really a travellogue (except pics of Kerala) and certainly no recipes, no how-to posts….hmmm… this tag is beginning to make me realise I haven’t got as much as versatility as I thought I did! Hmm this post would not be called ‘helpful’ per se since the tone is not intended for that. But then as I read through it I realised that quite a lot about the process for applying for a visa has been covered here….it might help people appearing for visa the first time round.
5. A post whose success surprised you
My posts are the best, they all deserve to be successful This post was restricted to a certain tag and a certain number of people who would actually understand the plot. I had expected only a certain set of people to come and read this. However the tag became mighty popular and people started following it as a series. It started with hitchy, passed on to OG (who has by now almost disappeared from the blog scene), who tagged Vimmuuu, who finally pushed it onto me. The Al-Shabab team, please take a bow. The series rocked, and so did the post. Crafty did the tag after me, and then tagged Indyeah …who well…by then had stopped blogging and the tag died an unnatural death
6. A post you feel didn’t get the attention it deserved
This post came to me in the spur of the moment. And I promptly jotted it down. I love the narrative in this post, and the conclusion which springs out at you. I think it deserved more attention.
Not too many people would have read this one which is my second post. I met most of my (by now) blog friends only later. Would like to bring this post to everyone’s attention as well.
The problem is, I have many other posts…..but they don’t fall into any of these categories
Hey Smithus, whaddaya say?!
Shall we invent a tag customised to individual post requirements?
Jokes apart, hope you guys n gals enjoy reading these posts… as much as I enjoyed digging through my archive and re-reading them
At the end of the day, after so many years of blogging you are finding it difficult to point out a single helpful post? You did not even write something like how to make hot water, like vimmuuu did ?!
Ash: ROFL!!
No I need to write more such ‘helpful’ posts!!
I remember reading that first post and the UK/MM series posts… I’ll be back to read a couple of other posts which I missed. BTW, you should write a controversial post soon enough…
Destination Infinity
Ok
Me First!!!

I have read all your MMM series…totally love them..ekdum love them
Ash: Sure
Waiting for your comments on the remaining ones

Ash: Yup you would have read a few. Remaining, definitely not…since I started blogging all the way in early 2009
Wonderful choice of posts, Ash! Your first post is my favorite, will always remain so I think
.
The MM series are in a league of its own, absolute roller coaster, so is the ‘counter-terrorism’ chain, so wish Indy had taken it forward! Miss those days absolute fun!
Ash: This tag was an opportunity for me to remember those awesome days of blogging
….and a lot of bloggers who are now dormant..
Had missed reading your fiction and the second post. Read just now, loved the superb narration in the former and laughed heartily reading the pranks the oxen played on you and your friend in the latter
Loved reading and rereading your posts, Ash! Keep them coming
Ash: Thanks sweetheart!
Ohh dear, I seriously like every post of you, so it’s practically difficult to choose one. And here is one more category MMM…I am huge fan of it
Ash: You have just made my day!!!
Yipeee!!!
So many posts to read… But have read all you MMM posts and had loved them…
Ash: Time to read the others, don’t you think?
I thought I had read almost all your posts. Looks like I’ve missed a lot. Time to play catch up
Ash: Definitely!
Would love to see your comments…
Lovely!!
Re-reading posts and even reading a few for the first time!
Ash: Great
Ha ha! Most of us got to know u thru the MM series I think. One of them ws my first too
Where is OG nowadays?
And the cross-border terrorism! Sigh! I miss all that fun
Ash: He’s fine…spoke to him about a month or so back. I’m hoping to meet him when he comes down this year. Sigh…yes miss those days
Loved the way you did the tag, Ash! Sorry for the loooong delay in reaching here. My holidays were a bit busy
Too busy having fun, you see
I loved your MM series! I have to say, I was a tiny bit disappointed when you got married
But I am sure you will come up with more fun posts
As for the Cross-border terrorism posts – they were such fun! Undakanni, where are you these days
Those blogging days were so much fun, weren’t they? I miss them!!!!
Ash: Miss the good ol’ blogging days
sigh…
And will now re-read your posts to remember how much fun we had those days
God makes me sound like a grandma
Don’t worry…you are not alone. Even I feel the same!
You are tagged again
– http://wordsndreamz.wordpress.com/2012/01/05/an-award-and-the-7-random-things-tag/
Ash: Don’t want to keep doing tags
That’s even worse. Have to write something new!! Will do this later if you don’t mind. But will do it though
And again- http://deepsspeakingup.wordpress.com/2012/01/05/of-trba-being-a-versatile-blogger-and-some-random-bits/
Ash: Yeeaaghh!!
Buhahahahah!
Take your time Ash! I’d much rather have you write something new than get stuck in the monotony of tags
. So is Post- Matrimony Mishmash in the offing by any chance?
Ash: You bet!
I am just trying to remember and compile it all together for one post…too many things to write!
Sorry for coming so late here.
The first post i read on your blog was marriage proposal, liked the post a lot.
Will read other post which i missed
Ash: Thanks!
Waiting to hear your comments about the other posts!
Interesting concept.
Let me read your old posts first.

GV
Ash: Sure
Mere ko jealous ho raha seeing all you bloggers flaunting so many posts
I loved the way you wrote about your grandpa
Holy Cow was the scariest post….I mean what if that Ox actually was in love with you?
Ash: What stops you from flaunting your own posts?? Surely you’d have written enough!! Yes my grandpa’s post is my favourite till date
And BTW yes I did suspect the ox was interested in me…in more ways than one
Why do u think I ran for my life??
Whew!
Just finished a marathon reading session.
I read all the posts you mentioned in SNo. 1 to 6 except 5
Will come back later to check on anything new.
Count me in as a regular reader from now.

GV
Ash: Yes I saw ALL your comments…whew! Takes a lot of patience to go through all of it at one sitting. I’m glad to have gained another reader
Most welcome!
I just subscribed to your blog by email.
You can look forward to my comments in future.
You must forgive me if they are sometimes rather long.
Regards
GV
Ash: I look forward to those long comments…makes the blog and interaction more lively
Hey Ashwathy,
Came here via R’s Mom’s blog where I religiously follow your comments
I read the whole MM series in one sitting and it was like un-hit-X-able. The series was outright hilarious and the beautiful climax to it was like cherry on the cake.
Your first post about your Grandpa struck a chord with me coz I too was very attached to my Grandpa and vice versa. The way you have written that letter to him was so touching.
Why have you been so infrequent in blogging lately? Would love to read you Marital MishMashes *puppy faced, batting eye lids with hope*
Following you here and at RM’s blog
Regards,
Seema
Ash: Great to see you here, welcome!
I m trying to write more often. Just been too busy with a lot of travel and settling down, post marriage. Will provide explanations in the next marital mish-mashes post, ok?
Your wish is my command, I will post one such post soon!
